Jack Nicklaus Fund Raiser featuring SoloRider golf carts

Jack Nicklaus topped a significant donation with a personal appearance at an exclusive special event at BIGHORN Golf Club to help raise funds for American Lake Veterans Golf Course. ALVGC is the nation’s only course designed specifically for the rehabilitation of wounded and disabled veterans. “I was moved to see the amazing efforts at American Lake Veterans Golf Course where our wounded warriors learn to play golf with the help of an incredible army of volunteers,” Nicklaus said in a statement announcing a donation of design services by Nicklaus Design for an additional nine holes of golf at American Lake. The campaign for American Lake has a .5 million fund-raising goal. The organization says funds will be used to: * Construct the nine new holes (“the Nicklaus Nine”); * Complete the construction of the Rehabilitation and Learning Center for physical therapy, fitness training, skills assessment and golf lessons for every level of ability and mobility. The Center will also function as a clubhouse; * Make improvements to the original nine holes to enhance accessibility; * Upgrade the maintenance facilities and restrooms; * Fund operational costs.

    The greatest shot I have ever seen. 272 yards, 26 mph crosswind, everything on the line. Two up with two to go to win it all. He could have easily laid up to make par, and still had the best chance to win. Paddy chose not to play for second place. Ask yourself one thing: If somehow you end up in this spot, and everything you have worked for your entire life lies in the balance, do you have the guts to pull out the five wood and start the ball out over the middle of the grandstand?

    @anthat7777 i agree except for the comparison to tiger’s chip because tigers chip not only was a huge pressure shot but just a superb look and execution along with the raw buildup as it drew to the hole

    Just a fantastic shot. Really is underated. Don’t understand why he changed his swing when he could hit shots like that!!

    @anthat7777

    Right on. This is one of the best shots in recent history, easily.

    I had the amazing pleasure of caddying for Paddy, twice! A grand sponsors day in Mount Juliet on different occasions. Must have been 9 years ago but still remember it like it was last month. He’s made a fair few million since then.

    @recycler12 Peter Allis is no moron. He mentioned that he had a “bit of luck” as the ball “caught the side of the bunker”. Harrington is a wonderful player, but his confidence is gone of late. Allis is one of golf’s greatest commentators.

    One of the best shots I have ever seen. 272 yds, very strong crosswind, narrow target not to mention it being the 71st hole while leading. Tournament winning shot. This shot is massively underrated in my opinion – it doesn’t get the repeat coverage it deserves like Tigers chip at Augusta does (great shot too by the way). Superb stuff Paddy.

    just class, he wanted to get under par for the day, so he said afterwards in any case…just balls of steel and talent dug out of the ground…

    Shot of a lifetime, man, talk about going for it…
